5 Month Pictures

Check out Zuri's new pictures. Go to www.kelliemsmithphotography.com password: alicia.
Of course she wouldn't smile and giggle the way she does at home. She laughed all morning and as soon as we go to Kellie's she would barely crack a smile...but our wonderful photographer Kellie got a few good shots. I can't wait for August, we are having pictures made in our sunflower field...I guess I need to start working on her now to smile at the camera.

Happy 5 Months Zuri

Well, Zuri is 5 months old...Can you believe it? She is rolling all over the place, that's why our 5 month picture isn't quite so poised...she refused to lay still to take it. We are working on sitting up completely on our own. She can sit and lean forward to prop herself up for a few seconds then she gets top heavy and falls forward. She also gets up on her knees like she wants to go somewhere, and of course she gets top heavy again and falls forward. She is preparing herself to crawl, but doesn't quite get the concept...I am sure we have a few more months. We started back with baby food...she started it at 4 months and for the first week she did soooo well...she couldn't get enough, then the next week she decided she didn't want anything to do with it, so we stopped I didn't want to make her not enjoy it. So we decided to try again at 5 months, she seems to be doing well so far...so we will see. She has been such a joy the last 5 months, and brings a smile to our faces all the time.

Family Weekend

This weekend Marie, Kaitlyn, Allen, and Great Granny came to visit. We had a really good time. Zuri loved all the attention. We spent a lot of time enjoying each other's company and hanging out at the pool.

We didn't get to take any pictures of Zuri with Great Granny, Zuri decided to take a nap when we were ready for pictures, so I guess we will get some next time.
Also, this weekend Allen decided he would hold Zuri for the first time...he has been a little timid to hold her. I will post some pictures of that when I get them from Marie...it really was sweet the way he interacted with her.

Swimming

We took Zuri to the pool a few weeks ago and she didn't like it at all...I thought "Oh, no...we are going to have a long summer"...but she and I went back the next week and she loved it. She didn't know what to do at first. It took her a few times at the pool to realize she can kick and splash. Once she figured that out...watch out, you WILL get wet.
