Zuri's First Hair Cut

Zuri got her first hair cut today, December 30, 2010. We have been talking about it for a week and she said she was going to be a big girl...but as you can see from one of the pictures she wasn't to thrilled when she had to sit on the booster, and freaked out when Audrey tried to put the cape on. Thank goodness Nana K was there, Zuri willingly sat on her lap...after choosing a sucker to munch on during her hair cut. As much as I hated to cut her beautiful long hair, it really needed a shape up. It was all different lengths and looking scraggly. She is becoming such a big girl.

Christmas 2010

I hope everyone had a wonderful Merry Christmas. We sure did. Zuri has been so excited about "Tanta" (Santa) coming. She even started saying 'Ho, Ho' the other day. However, we want her to understand that Christmas is not about Santa but is Jesus' brithday. So we have been spending a lot of time talking about Jesus and reading books. Zuri was so much fun this year for Christmas. She woke up...at 4:45...of course...and was overly stimulated. She got a Radio Flyer wagon from Tim and Terry and Nana K and Papa got her a kitchen. She ABSOLUTELY loves her kitchen. She is hilarious playing with it. She will sit her baby in the stroller and feed it. She'll say, "want some...ok, ok" and run to her kitchen and make something. I am going to attempt to add a video of it...hope you can hear it. We have been so blessed this year and are looking forward to a wonderful 2011. We love you all and wish you a Happy New Year! Here are a few pictures of Christmas and the snow

Christmas Cards-Thanks Shutterfly

Every year I begin designing our family Christmas card in my head before I ever pick out the card. We have a lot of friends and family that live out of town, who we rarely see; so our Christmas card gives them an update of how our lives have been throughout the year. A few weeks ago I received a Shutterfly 'flier' in the mail and fell in love with their cards. I knew I would be using them this year to share Christmas with our friends and families. The problem is...which one will I choose. I can choose from:
Holiday cards---http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/holiday-cards
Photo cards--http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery

Or even order gifts for grandparents---http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/5x7-folded-greeting-cards

To all those fellow bloggers out there, you can get 50 free holiday cards from Shutterfly! Sign up at http://bit.ly/sfly2010.

I can't wait to pick out our Christmas cards and to share them with the people we love.

Halloween Trick or Treating

We had such a wonderful Halloween. We went Trick-or-Treating with some great friends. As you can see Zuri was the only girl...as always, but she hangs just fine with her buddies. We actually went house to house Trick-or-Treating. I haven't done that since I was a little girl. It was so precious to watch Zuri go up to the door and say "chick cheet" and "chank you". She is such a big girl.

Potty Training.

Ok, so I don't have pictures to share, but just a little update on how we are doing. About a month ago Zuri started randomly telling us she needed to potty, so we would take her...not pushing potty training at all. About 2 weeks ago we were home almost all day Saturday and Sunday and she told us bothdays. Even though she wore a diaper she stayed dry...so we thought Hmmm...maybe she is ready. Thanks to our wonderful babysitter she agreed we should start working on it. Zuri has now been in her big girl undies for 2 weeks all day (except at nap and bedtime). She tells us almost every time she needs to go (sometimes she goes because we ask). She is even getting better about telling Delana. We can even go on outtings in big girl undies and she will hold it or tell us. I am so proud of her and hope we are on our way to being completely potty trained. Yay!!

Beach 2010 Continued

Zuri didn't like to sleep while we are at the beach. So on this morning she was up with Nana K and Papa waiting on the big red ball.

We had so much fun visiting with our good friends Brooke and Walker. The kids had a blast playing in the sand...when they weren't eating. Then we went up to show Walker the pool. We are so glad we were able to see them on our trip.

More Beach Fun...

Beach 2010

We had sooooo much fun a the beach. Zuri was a blast. She woke up every morning by 5...yes I said 5 and was ready to go. She would point to the balcony and say 'go' 'beach'. She played in the sand, ran from the water, and loved the kiddy pool at the condo. I guess that is why she was up and ready to go at 5. She had wonderful naps on the beach on Nana K, and I am sure Nana loved it too. Here are a few pictures of Zu-bug having a blast at the beach. I will post more once I get them from mom.

Enjoy!

Family Day

Since we didn't get to do much for my birthday, seeing that it was on a Monday and Tyler was slammed at work...we decided to spend the entire Saturday together. We went to the Greenville Zoo and to downtown Greenville. We got ice cream and walked around Falls Park. It was so much fun, we rarely get whole days together like that. At the zoo, Zuri loved the animals, but she loved the playground even more. She was such a big girl. There wasn't one thing on the playground, that she didn't think she could do.

First Days Back to Delana's

I think Zuri and Blakely missed each other.

Summer Update

I know I haven't blogged in a while. It is almost impossible when Zuri is awake; and when she napped I napped. So here are a few pictures of Zuri over the summer. She finally got to where she loved the pool and trusted her swimmies to hold her up. I had so much fun with her this summer. I was really sad to leave her on Monday to go back to work. She is talking up a storm. She can say the following words really good: bubble, Papa, circle, mama, daddy, bye, hey, see, please (cease), thank you (chank chu), Addison, purple, up, in, Tink (Tinkerbelle), stairs, Reese, and a few more I just can't think of. I am amazed how much she is talking and how easily she is picking it up. I don't have a baby any more, she is a big girl. I love her so much.

Zuri and Teko (her new cat)

Tara had a stray cat wander up. It was very sweet...and pregnant. Tara was blessed with 6 adorable orange tabby's. After a lot of persuassion from Tara to me and me to Tyler we agreed to get Zuri a cat. She loves this animal. She surely knows it is her cat. If she sees someone holding it she wants it, if you are petting it she pushes your hand away so she can love on it. She carries it around everywhere, and what is great is he lets her. He goes limp and lets her take him everywhere, almost like he's saying "I give up."
We named him Teko. My friend Kelly and her daughter Ana were brainstorming names off of Dora (since that is what Zuri is into now) and they said Teko, that sounded like a good cat name, so it stuck...but we were watching Handy Manny and they said Teko...so I'm not really sure what show it's off of, but Zuri likes them both...oh well.
Now Tyler and I just have to remember we have another 'baby' around for a while. Neither one of us are die hard animal fans so we aren't thrilled to death about the cat, but it really makes Zuri happy and she loves animals so it is definitely work it.

Side note...Zuri now calls Reese (aka Ceese) it is so sweet to hear her call her and then say 'good girl'
