The Beach

Zuri's First Beach Trip

Napping on Nana

Zuri is loving the beach. It took her a few days to get used to everything. She hated the ocean at first, I think she didn't like the sand moving from under her. She also hated the sand on her. But it only took a day and she was eating the sand and crawling everywhere. She loves the ocean too, and has a great time in the water. She is having so much fun and we are having a blast watching her.

The next day Tyler and Derek had to work at the coach's clinic so we decided to visit the Waterfront Park at Patriot's Point...it's under the Cooper River bridge. The kids had so much fun walking the pier and playing on the playground.

The next day we went to the South Carolina Aquarium, since the guys had to work. Zuri loved the big fish and and watching everyone at the aquarium.

Zuri didn't like the grass at first...she didn't really know what it was.

On Wednesday, the guys only had to work half a day, so we met them downtown Charleston. We went to the battery, the market, and waterfront park at the pineapple. Zuri loved crawling in the grass, and didn't make a peep the whole time we were in town, I think she is a people watcher.
Well this is our beach trip so far, hopefully I will have a chance to update it before we get home, if not I will make sure to add more then. After we leave Isle of Palms we head to Myrtle Beach with Nana K and Papa, and to see our friends Patrick, Brooke, and Walker.

6 months

I can't believe Zuri is 6 months old. Where does time go? She is crawling, babbling, eating baby food, and some table food. She has such a huge personality. I am loving every minute of it...I don't know what I will do when I have to go back to school.

We have a crawler!!!!

Zuri was at mom and dads on Saturday night, July 11th, and decided she wanted to play with Tinkerbell, so she decided to crawl. She has been acting like she has wanted to for a few weeks now, and I guess she finally got tired of just rolling to get places. At first it was only a few "steps" and then she flopped...but today, Sunday the 12th, she crawled a lot. She is still very slow and unstable at times but she gets where she wants to go. I have been in denial, Tyler has been saying for the last week "It won't be long and she will be crawling", I was so sure it would be a few more weeks...I am not ready for her to crawl, that means she is growing up and getting bigger...soon she is not going to be a baby any more...WHAT AM I GOING TO DO???
I don't have any pictures yet, but I will post some soon.

Mommy and Me Day

Our friend's Kelly and Ana Grace have Mommy and Me days during the summer and they invited us to come along. We had a picnic in Falls Park and walked around downtown Greenville. Ana got her face painted while Zuri watched with anticipation. We also watched the ducks swim in the pond while Ana fed them crackers. Zuri had a blast watching everyone and soaking it all in.

4th of July

On the 4th of July the Swain's had a bunch of people over to celebrate. Zuri had so much fun. She even had her 4th of July attire.

She had a blast at the pool. She loves the water. She splashes and kicks. And doesn't mind getting her face wet.

After the day at the pool, we went over to our friend Lorrie and Darron's house to watch fireworks. Zuri loved the fireworks...I was a little worried it might scare her, but she watched. She only closed her eyes when they were really bright, and the noise didn't bother her thanks to Lorrie covering her ears.
