Praise the Lord

We had tubes today...it went great. It was as easy a process as everyone said. The only thing no one warned me about was how Zuri would act in the recovery room. She was fighting mad. She would not quit screaming and throwing herself around. I thought for sure she was in pain, but they reassured me it was just the medicine wearing off...they were right. Once we got out of the recovery room and in the car she was much better. She is truely back to her old self. Hopefully we will be ear infection free for a while...maybe even forever. Thank you all for your prayers for Zuri and for our anxiety.
Also, God is truely AMAZING. As of yesterday, Zuri had a fever...which she had for severl days, the doctor said she was ok for the surgery, but they may not do it because of the fever. I prayed over her and asked God to take this fever away from her. That night she was fever free, the surgery went well, and she feels much better.
We do serve and AWESOME God!!!
Thank you all for being such great friends and family.

Winter ONEderland Birthday Party

Well the Winter ONEderland Birthday Bash was great. Everyone seemed to have a really good time...I know I did. It was great combining Zuri's first birthday with mom's 60th. Mom was so surprised when she came down stairs and saw the big banner Tyler made for her. Mom's best friend from NC came to surprise her...it was great...and mom deserved it. Zuri seemed to really enjoy herself and was quite the little lady eating her cake. Thank you everyone who shared in this wonderful memory. We appreciate all our friends and family. We love you guys.

She couldn't ger her fingers to dig in so she decided to go face first.

Zuri and Grandma Helen...how sweet!
Mom's friend, Linda, gave Zuri and Mom matching jewlery boxes.

Tyler did a lot of work on Zuri and Mom's banners.

Happy Birthday to my Little Angel

Wow! Zuri is 1. This has been the fastest year of my life and the best year of my life. Zuri has been such a true blessing to us. She is so funny, sweet, and loving. Here are a few pictures of her birthday. We had a small celebration with just family. I can't wait until Saturday for her big celebration.

Zuri sure did enjoy helping me ice her birthday cake. She dug right into the iceing jar. She pitched a huge fit when I took it away...I think someone has a sweet tooth.Obviously I am not a baker. Thank goodness I am having her cake made Saturday. It may look bad but it was good.

Zuri had a wonderful birthday and was wore out.

Wow! what a two days we have had

Ok, so Monday we went to the ENT in Anderson. They gave us 2 options: stay on antibiotics or get tubes. Of course I am not a big fan of constantly giving Zuri medicine so my only alternative was tubes. I am a nervous wreck about the procedure. I know it is very common and doesn't take long at all...but it's my baby. I think what I am the most nervous about is not the being put to sleep (don't get me wrong it worries me), but I am worried about Zuri not having anything to eat or drink before hand. She really likes her cup of milk when she wakes up...so pray for sanity when she doesn't get it :) We go on Tuesday the 26th.
Our next drama is Zuri has hand, foot, mouth diesease. Which really sounds horrible but it's just sores in her mouth and they can develop on her hands and feet...right now they are just in her mouth. So all day today I have been sick to my stomach that we are going to have to cancel her party on Saturday...but after talking to 3 different people (2 being nurses and 1 my sister in law who just went through it with Addison...which is who Zuri must of gotten it from)...they all said 24 hours of no fever and 24 hours after the sores appear she is good. However, I am going to keep her out of daycare the rest of the week just in case and so she doesn't get it again before her party. SO THE SHOW WILL GO ON!!! Yay, I can breathe again :)
Speaking of parties...my angel will be 1 tomorrow...oh my where has time gone. I can't wait until her party Saturday it is going to be so much fun!!!

ENT bound

Well, we are now on our 5th round of antibiotics for ear infections and I am not a believer in the chiropractor; however, I can see how it could work. Zuri has been going to the chiropractor for 2 weeks now, and I was so hoping that would be the answer to all our ear infections...but it doesn't look like it worked for us. I'll still keep spreading the word about chiropractors because I think it makes sense once it's explained. Anyway, we went to the doctor yesterday Zuri's left ear was perfect but her right ear was still a little infected...and then we woke up this morning with a fever. I have been trying all day to get her fever to break. So I guess the next step is to visit an ear, nose, and throat doctor. We have an appointment on Monday...I am sure she will suggest tubes. As common as they are, it still freaks me out to put my little one through it...but if that is what it takes then we will. I will let you all know what they say on Monday. Please keep Zuri in your prayers.

Zuri's Birthday Party

Wow! Zuri will be one in 10 days. Where has the year gone? I am seriosly in denial. Everyday I look at her and I am truely amazed at what a wonderful blessing she is. This has been the best year of my life. She has brought a smile to our faces every day.
Her birthday party plans are under way. We have been working on the basement to get it ready to become a Winter Onederland. Invitations are going out tomorrow and in 2 weeks we will be celebrating Zuri's life. Thank you all for sharing in Zuri's first year and for being there to share in all the excitement. I can't wait to share the next year and on with you all.
