Zuri and Teko (her new cat)

Tara had a stray cat wander up. It was very sweet...and pregnant. Tara was blessed with 6 adorable orange tabby's. After a lot of persuassion from Tara to me and me to Tyler we agreed to get Zuri a cat. She loves this animal. She surely knows it is her cat. If she sees someone holding it she wants it, if you are petting it she pushes your hand away so she can love on it. She carries it around everywhere, and what is great is he lets her. He goes limp and lets her take him everywhere, almost like he's saying "I give up."
We named him Teko. My friend Kelly and her daughter Ana were brainstorming names off of Dora (since that is what Zuri is into now) and they said Teko, that sounded like a good cat name, so it stuck...but we were watching Handy Manny and they said Teko...so I'm not really sure what show it's off of, but Zuri likes them both...oh well.
Now Tyler and I just have to remember we have another 'baby' around for a while. Neither one of us are die hard animal fans so we aren't thrilled to death about the cat, but it really makes Zuri happy and she loves animals so it is definitely work it.

Side note...Zuri now calls Reese (aka Ceese) it is so sweet to hear her call her and then say 'good girl'

A Day at the Zoo

We went to the zoo today with Christy and Nolan, some of our good friends. Zuri and Nolan always love seeing each other, their faces light up, it is the cutest thing. Zuri was so much fun this zoo trip. She was really into seeing the animals. She would look, point, and say 'see'. She always wanted to make sure I was looking as well. She thought the orangutans were hilarious. I was a little worried about her wanting to get in and out of her stroller, but she did so well. She climbed out to look at the animals and then climbed back in when I told her we needed to go see the next animal.
This age is so much fun. I look forward each day to what she is going to do next. Hopefully our next zoo trip will be with daddy so he can see her get excited as well.
